China's development of stealth fighter takes U.S. by surpriseJanuary 07, 2011
By Ken Dilanian, Los Angeles Times
Reporting from WashingtonA few weeks ago, grainy photos surfaced online showing what several prominent defense analysts said appeared to be a prototype of a Chinese stealth fighter jet that could compete with the best of America's warplanes, years ahead of U.S. predictions.
Days later, the commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet disclosed that a long-awaited Chinese anti-ship missile, designed to sink an American aircraft carrier, was nearly operational.

-since when was it called black eagle?
In my memory, it was an from allegedly leaked internal information in a Chinese fan-boy-forum. Someone posted an Google translation in the earlier thread that was translated as "black hawk".

-I highly doubt the nickname for J-20 is "Black Hawk".
FC-1: "Xiao Long ", or "Fierce Dragon"
J-10 : "Meng Long", or Vigorous Dragon".
see the pattern?
my bet is:
J-20 " "XXX Long", or "something Dragon".
....
imho they should start using Dinosaur species to name these.

I am more interesting on reading how they will do sensor fusion combining AESA, and EW suits. possiblly IRIST integrated into pilot helmet display slaving multiple sensor and weapons.
from the cockpit ejector seat position it is most likely a sidestick... rather forward.
haven't seen any good open sources from there. :D
but I know they are working on them.
to me J-10B interest me not so from DSI point of view but, with its two integrated EW pods and AESA is suppose to platform to test that first generation of that suit, in a fighter platform.

-Looks like next two days possibly mostly sunny ( although one source shows fog tomorrow). So if they're ready to fly J-20 "2001" it's either tomorrow or wednesday , otherwise rain/cloud again.
