The third airshow I attended in Taxas held at Dallas Executive Airport.
Many of the flying display acts were now familiar wth me having seen them at Wings Over Houston but with two notable exceptions being B-29 Superfortress 'Fifi' and B-24 'Diamond Lill.' The last time I saw Diamond Lill. was at Duxford isome years ago when it was touring the UK.
Although these two aircraft did not do any actual displays, they nonethless did a number of paying passenger flights which meant I could still photograph them in the air.
To start, the weather was very cool and almost completely overcast with cloud and a stiff breeeze.
Before 1pm and by the the time the air display started, the cloud had cleared and I was thankfull of the warm sunshine and reduced wind speed which came with it.
The airfield is quite large but with the spectator showground being very small, it all gave a very intimate and laid back feel to the day and you would never be far away of any of the displays irrespective of where you were positioned.
You could walk from one end of the showground to the other in as little as five minutes. Parking was easy followed by a very short walk to the front. Getting out was also easy.
The sun is in front of you during the displays so photography was not always easy.
Most of the static was lined up at either side of the showground or at various times inside the showground but since most of them displayed, there are only a few pictures of static aircraft.
As with the other shows, excellent flying and I got my monies worth!
