Pride Aircraft announced that Su-27 (Flanker 31) is now officially certified for flight in the US.

"It is now registered as N131SU, making it the first of its type ever to be licensed in the USA. Flanker #32 will be licensed shortly. Regular engine/afterburner runs and extensive systems checks of both aircraft continue to be carried out. First flights will happen soon."

US Flanker First Flight

December 10, 2009
FIRST FLIGHT.
After much preparation and work, Flanker #31 (N131SU) became the first civilian-operated Su-27 Flanker in history. The aircraft blasted off Runway 25 at Rockford Airport (KRFD) after a takeoff roll of approximately 1100 feet, and climbed out of sight at a 30-degree angle. The pilots conducted a 40-minute long litany of systems checks, all of which were nominal, then returned for several low approaches and a graceful landing.

With the completion of over 5 hours of rigorous evaluation, Flanker N131SU has completed its "Phase 1" operations. Pride's Chief Pilot Steve Kirik completed the aircraft's test phase and later took an FAA checkride. He now holds the world's first Experimental Aircraft Authorization for the SU-27. Congratulations, Steve!
We've posted a new video below which shows the amazing takeoff performance of the Su-27. Check it out:

On a side note here is a video of the rumoured US Su-27 back in 2003/2004:

Check aorund :01.08 .. is this a fake?

Not a fake. That segment of the video shows the instant recognition features of a Flanker. No other aircraft type gives that topside recogniton feature.

Probably a Belarus example acquired during the 1990s? Rumour has it that the US got their hands on two examples of the Flanker.

The person who filmed the video link that you posted has contributed on this forum. Ian 'Growlerwaxer' is a UK Civilian Air Traffic Controller who with a group of fellow ATC has made several visits to Tikaboo Peak.
