Question for all of those who are specialists in modern combat aircraft:

Recently I noticed this round transparent part above the fuselage of the B-2A, next to the cockpit...

I noticed it because on older pictures, it seems that this "thing" did not appear...? :confused:

Does anyone know what is it made for ?

I know the SR-71 had one, other than that many long-range ballistic missiles do.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the astrocompass system on the FB-111A. I don't imagine that it would need such a thing, but it is completely passive and it can't be jammed.
