I am a great enthusiast of military aircraft markings (roundels) and
would like the forum's opinion on what they consider the most exotic military aircraft roundel ?

My current ones are :

1.Macedonia
2.Moldova
3.Iraq

What about the historical ones ?

i have always found the saudi technique of writing "Royal Saudi Arabian Air-Force" on their aircraft very amusing...its like saying "Welcome to Saudi Airlines" :-D

And what about Peru and Latvia? Why would you want to paint a target on your planes? Give the enemy something to aim for I guess :P

Seriously, why that?

1. Slovakia (i really like the shield like insignia)
2. Finland (i like blue and yellow)
3. German (the iron cross!)
4. Spain/ Romania (i like the red and yellow roundel..romania has a blue center.
6. Japan..ok its just a plain red circle..but for some reason it looks cool..

RE: Military Aircraft Markings

That's quite interesting . Are there any good sources for historical markings books or web sites ?

I have seen a web site called skytamers.com - but its still incomplete after more than a year .
