Picture taken on the island Texel. Texel Airport has a grass strip and is regular visited by the Air Force PC-7s and the helos. Back in the good old days the field was also used to train the F-27 and F-60 crews with grass landings. (btw: Fokker did touch and go's with all their aircraft here before delivering)

I was having truck driving lessons yesterday where I drove into the little border village of Groesbeek. Just as I was in the middle of a complicated maneouvre I heard a jet overhead. My instructor, who also has an eye for jets went ape****. I knew he'd chew my posterior if I'd stop and lean out the window to look bit my lip and finished the maneouvre. And thats my story of how I heard, but did not see the first appearance of the JSF over my area. lol.
It sounds nice cruising, like an F16 but lower, more throaty. Like a darker sound.

This Viper clearly shows the new Sniper targeting pod of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The pod is "the glass thing" underneath the aircraft.
