The report published today at the Israeli Globes, whose reliability is not clear, joins another report of American warships crossing the Suez Canal last Friday. Ten days ago, the Iranian News Agency reported a concentration of Israeli and American forces in Azerbaijan.

The Iranian News Agency is reporting on IDF activity on Saudi Arabian soil. According to the report, whose reliability remains unclear, Israel Air Force planes have been landing at a Saudi Arabian military base in the last few days to unload military equipment. According to the Iranian agency, the base in the city of Tabuk will become Israel’s front base for attacking Islamic countries.

None of those things seem particularly unusual. The Saudis might not officially recognise Israel, but unofficially they aren't going to mind working with them if it's kept quiet and helps them keep their hands on their oil fortunes.

So Saudi Arabia, long seen as the protector of the Islamic faith and a major power in the region ruled by a strict Islamic government is now allowing outside nations long seen as hostile to the region to base forces in its territiory to attack Islamic countries....erm....I don't thnk so.
Before anyone quotes the 1991 Gulf War basing of Coalition forces on Saudi soil, this was done both to defend Saudi and to liberate another Islamic nation.

As PPP mentions, its not unusual. Western European countries might be producing aircraft to take on Russian ones and like wise with Russia, but they're keen to supply us with gas & we're fine to buy it. We're not going to have a punch up over anything.

This Israeli & Saudi situation is interesting though.

Nothing new.
Various governments see Israel as a stabilizing military force in the region.
It's a classic example of saying one thing in public and doing something else in private.

Even Iran worked with Israel during their raid on Iraq's nuclear facilty in the 80s. And remember, that was the post-shah Islamic Iranian government.
