Hello to all. I've not posted before so here goes for my first posting.
I'm trying to find out as much as possible about the first Airmail service in Italy in 1911. As far as I can gather an Italian newspaper sponsored this -(the 'Il Resto Del Carlino') and the first flight started Sept 17 - 20, 1911. This was between 'Bologna - Venezia - Rimina - and back to Bologna.'
I'm curious to find out as much as possible as I've come into possession of a sort of medallion which seems to commemorate this event. I've contacted the Italian newspaper but have not received a reply as yet and just wondered whether anyone out there could shed a bit of light on the subject?
