Spot on Mosquito nose?

Does anyone know what that white spot is on the top right of the nose, just above the .303s? It is displayed in all 3 pictures as a white/pink spot - gun camera patch? And the serial number seems to not be mentioned in the description of the image...

Pretty sure it is indeed a gun camera; ISTR these images are taken of a 23 Squadron NFII in Malta, which might help to narrow down the serial and also explains the need to keep the camera covered against scratches when on the ground.

If it is the same idea as on the US recce P-38's.
it is paper, and it was designed so it 'blew off' after take off, to keep the lens clean and free from damage.
