Louis Zamperini - read his story of survival. Took part in the 1936 Olympics , bombardier in the AAF, crashed in the Pacific, survived 47 days in a dinghy, captured by the Japanese, tortured, but thats only part of the story. Was skate boarding into his eighties. After all that is still alive.

I read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand but understand Louis has also written his story. Google will tell you more. Enjoy, I did. Film rights have been taken up.

Unbroken is indeed a fascinating book. Zamperini was the guest speaker at one of the Planes of Fame events at Chino a year or so back, sadly I was unable to make it. I'd recommend the book to anyone, whether an aviation aficionado or not, as a great story of one man's will to survive against overwhelming odds.
