Hi all, we are looking to acquire an additional cockpit access ladder if anyone has one or knows of one available? F3 or F6 type.

We've been after one for ZF581 at Bentwaters for quite a while, as we don't have one at all. They are like rocking horse poo to find! We're currently trying to see if we can borrow one from somewhere to measure up in order to manufacture one.
Regards.

I can't help, and sorry to digress Milt, but what is the latest with the museum?

The museum or the Lightning?

If the museum, then an appeal has been submitted this week and accepted. all support is still appreciated. Direct any appeal support letters to

Gatwick Aviation Museum

Lightning wise, click on the link at the bottom for the latest. to cut a long story short however, shes ready for engines in. Just need to take the plunge fairly soon and do it.

Ladder

Have you tried RAF Coningsby, they have a ladder on one of thier Lightnings I'm sure they would let you copy it.

Lakes Lightnings has ladders - BUT NOT FOR SALE!

Greetings All,

We at 'Lakes Lightnings' have ladders for F1/F1a variant, F3/F6/F53 variant and TBird variant.

We've already offered folks to 'BORROW' them to make up templates or to just have photos and measurements.

The logistics of moving these large items to and from is there.

We are keen to help out anyones Lightning project but, YOU have to do the leg work ... not us..... as some have intimated previously! :(

Each variant of ladders has different hooks which fit into the fuse recesses. They are not standard across the fleet!

Glad to help ..... Neil & Heather, 'Lakes Lightnings'
