Hi,
I have had this item in my collection for about 20 years and thought I should probably find out some details about it.
It is what I presume to be a survival kit, the canvas bag has US style 'lift the dot' fasteners and some of the contents have Australian manufacturers. There are 2 flasks for use as water containers and each have certain contents such as chewing gum, chocolate, razor blades, fishing kit, compass, matches, sulfag janidine, halozone, atabrine, benzedrine, salt, toothpaste, iodine, bandages, tweezers etc etc
Considering the inclusion of Atabrine I am assuming it is tropical issue but would like to know is it US or Aussie? is it WW2 or later? who would have used it - bomber crews? is it a specialty item or everyday issue? Any other relevant details.
