The National Aviation Heritage Invitational was held at the Reno National Championship Air Races, September 15th – 19th, 2010 at Stead Field in Reno.

Rolls Royce, The Reno Air Racing Foundation, and the National Aviation Hall of Fame annually invite those restoring historic aircraft to compete.The Invitational is dedicated "to the recognition of excellence in the preservation and restoration of vintage aircraft in airworthy condition and is designed to encourage aviation history conservation."

The Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy resides in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

•Reno Overall Winner Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy - 1945 North American P-51D, ex-NACA 127 (N51YZ) it was used by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics from 1945 to 1952 to get transonic data in addition to wind tunnel information. The airplane retains the heavy machined plates used to accelerate the airflow to speeds needed for research. On these plates are mounted both original and recreated test models. Restoration Facility: Pacific Fighters.
•Reno Classic Winner Classic Category (Paul E. Garber Trophy): 1945 Grumman G44A owned and restored by Bill Scott of Reno, Nevada.
•Reno Antique Winner Antique Category (Orville and Wilbur Wright Trophy): 1929 Hamilton Metalplane..owned and restored by Pole Pass Airways of Seattle, Washington. It's the sole example of its type airworthy.
•Reno Military Winner Military Category (Henry ‘Hap’ Arnold Trophy): 1945 Goodyear Corsair FG-1D owned by John O’Connor of Downers Grove, IL, and restored by Airpower Unlimited.
•Reno Large Aircraft Large Aircraft (Howard Hughes Trophy): 1934 Douglas DC-2 owned by Clay Lacy of Van Nuys, Calif. and restored by Pete Regina.
•Reno People's Choice National Aviation Hall of Fame People’s Choice Award: 1928 Boeing 40C1..the oldest airworthy Boeing aircraft and sole example of its type flying. Owned, restored and flown by Addison Pemberton.
