Hi All

im new to key aero and cannot open the pdf magazine on my iPad. Some pages open, then everything freezes and I have to close the browser down. I have the latest iOS and have tried deleting cache and history to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Laurie

Ive been a member for a while and have recently been getting the same issue. Until recently you could download the pdf to a reader such as GoodReader which was great but this seems to have been turned off. Understandable in many ways but not being able to read the PDF online is not great. I think Key need to address this issue otherwise I can see them losing subscribers as they state that Premium members have access to all the publications . At the moment this is not the case if the content is freezing and/or unreadable. You’re not doing anything wrong with regards updates, etc. It is very frustrating.

Regards

Mike

Hi All,

I am also experiencing the same problems. Have had premium access before and it was great no problems.

Now while trying to view the pdf files via Safari or Chrome on my iPad just doesn’t work, they both freeze up. Am I missing a simpler way to view?

Unless this gets sorted then key aero is useless to me and I will be cancelling my subscription.

regards

Hi all,

It's Dino Carrara here from the Key Aero team. Thanks for your above comments giving us feedback on this issue. We've investigated the issue and it is now fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. I hope you continue to enjoy Key Aero.

Since the magazines were removed from Readly I have subscribed to Key.Aero and in comparison it's been a miserable experience. PDF issues at least made it more tolerable, can't see myself subscribing for much longer unless this issue is resolved.

..new Premium subscriber. Was having the same issues with pdf's not loading. The 'fix' to an 'image-based' reader (I think it was) is so much easier to load and read. So thanks for this. Please please do this for the 'archive'.

I, too, became a premium subscriber after Key.Aero left Readly.  When I was able to download the PDF issues to read on my android tablet, all was good.  The "new" online viewer is finicky and completely unreliable.  Text on the full page view is pixelated and blurry.  It does sharpen up on zoom, but that makes navigating the page a chore, and since it won't advance the page when zoomed it requires zooming and un-zooming every single page to read.  That is not workable.

This online-only requirement with no ability to view issues when offline also makes it pretty much unusable for me.  I'm really going to miss these magazines, but these user-hostile decisions mean I have little choice but to cancel.

I really wish they would have stayed on Readly, which has a fantastic interface and is completely usable when offline.

Up until recently with Key Areo premium subscription you could download PDF's of ALL the Aviation titles until they turned this off recently now all you have is Live access only from the 'Viewer' which is as you can see bad on PC's also

So now I can't read any magazine unless I have internet access !!

this was the recent reply from Key Aero to this mess

Hi,

As all our print publications contain copyrighted material, we have taken the decision to disable the download function on our websites, in order to protect the integrity of this content.

Furthermore, this decision will assist us in reducing the increasing number of occurrences of our publications appearing on 3rd party websites for illegal/unpaid download.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

Cassandra

Their answer to reduce illegal downloads is to remove reasonable access for paying customers.  How anyone thought this was a good decision is baffling.  This change forced me to reluctantly cancel my subscription, and send an e-mail detailing why I was cancelling.  They simply don't care.

I keep checking in here in hopes that the situation has improved. I would immediately re-subscribe if they reversed this poor choice, but that seems extremely unlikely.

Hello all,

It is also a bad news for me to learn that we cannot download PDF anymore.  I was using this format on my iPad with the app "Documents" to take notes on it and/or read the magazine in bed before sleep.  The viewing experience is bad now, even on a 4K monitor...

Will cancel subscription if no fix is provided.

Only just joined, mainly to post this : this has lost key.aero a new subscription.  I was on the verge of creating a subscription for my dad for his birthday, and he’d be largely reading on the iPad.  The ability for him to download the PDFs and read in offline was fairly important, as the wifi in their house is a bit iffy *and* because I’ve personally found most online readers to be rubbish (which sounds like it’s the case here too).  A shame, and while I understand the reasoning, it won’t stop the pirates, they always find a way, so it’s just the paying customers who end up being inconvenienced.
