Zdravstvuy, Rabinowich!
I took the liberty of downloading your two pictures and attaching them to my post, to save your bandwith a bit. Thanks for explaining the details of the Magnyi-antenna. As you can see on the third pic (credit and copyright at Paul Nann with me claiming fair-use), the MiG-21 in Brussels also has that antenna. This nicely deconstructs my theory that this is an ex-Egyptian machine.
On a sidenote: the future of former Czechoslovak MiG-21PF 0403 seems to be improving... :)

Hello dear LIKA
I spoke about it in previous post :)
It is authentically known, that system "Magniy" which aerial was above a fuselage, had the early export series received by Indonesia in 1962, by India and Finland in 1963.
MiG-21F-13 for the countries of the Warsaw pact had system "Chrom".
Late export series MiG-21F-13 had aerial "Magniy" from below a fuselage.
Defected Iraq MiG and tested in Groom Lake have this variant.
Means MiG-21 "80965"USAF is not ex-Indonesian.
PS: your photo mirror ;)
The gun port on MiG-21F-13 is located only on the right.

Hi Fabe,
The aircraft is definately from Burkina Faso. Other images of aircraft from that country contain the same hanger. I would happily post them here, but i do not wish to be banned lol

Hello dear Nijmeijer
It so if to trust pictures ACIG.org http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_262.shtml
However Egyptian MiG-21F-13 up to 1967 I at all have not found PHOTOS.
There is a photo from 1969, 26th Sqn, "5843". (History of Aviation #3/2001)
By number it is the plane from the second set received in 1963.
In this photo aerials of system "Chrom" are clearly visible.

Hello,
I have found a picture of an Egypt AF MiG-21F-13 in a book which has the "Magniy" aerial (MiG-21F-13 5006 pictured on 26 October 1964).
I think this IFF system is also known as SRO-1 Bariy-M.
The picture of MiG-21F-13 5843 was not taken in 1969 but I think in 1981.
It was first published in Air International april 1982 (in full colour) and was taken by Denis Hughes.

Great thread.
I am particularly interested in Madagascar Air Force.
Does anyone have other pictures of the Mig-21 that were once operated by this country.
Does anyone also know what happen to them and where they are nowadays???

As for the first two pictures ( MiG 21PFM and MiG 21 UM) they are both ex DDR aircraft earmarked for Iran but not delivered. The third one is a Chinese built F-7 M and those were acquired by IRIAF
