Yesterday (8th Jan) it was the turn of two more aircraft to be moved into the new building. This time Harrier GR3 XV751 and Lightning F53 ZF579 were pulled out of the nasty weather and given a berth inside.

The last aerial is very interesting as the wings of the Laarbruch Museum Canberra are still to be seen.
Today our engineers are working on the wings. Next week they are expected at Laarbruch.

Just wonderful how an 30yr old town planner with great uni qualifications, and possibly little life experience thinks they know what is best for the amenity of the locals and the greater public good.
Must have been a frustrating experience to have to work within a "total volume"concept for the hangar.

I find it faintly ironic that there should be such restrictions placed on the museum's development when there are so many large structures in the adjacent area; and probably many more if the expansion of Gatwick Airport comes to fruition. Baffling.

Things are progressing well for the opening of the new museum and we can now publish that we will reopen on the Easter weekend Friday 25th - Monday 28th. Please come and support us, although we must remind everyone that this is just the start and there are several years worth of work to do to some of the airframes and likely a year to perfect the displays etc, but we hope you will come back and see the development. It is all work in progress in the new era for GAM.

Great stuff, ever considered an aerojumble at the site to kick it off? I remember Pete did a bit of this some 12 years back on some of the open days along with the Shackleton engine runs.
