Wake turbulence cited as cause of USAF F-35A crash at Hill AFB

Full details of the Accident Investigation Board report into the loss of a USAF F-35A Lightning II at Hill AFB, Utah, on October 19, 2022, have now been published. The official report was released on July 27 and identified the aircraft involved as 15-5197/HL operated out of Hill AFB by the 421st Fighter Squadron (FS) ‘Black Widows’ and assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing (FW).
