Norse Atlantic Airways – not to be confused with Norwegian – will begin flights from Gatwick to New York/JFK this August.
The Nordic newcomer had been expected to launch services this spring, but delayed the start of its revenue operations citing market weakness, highlighting the war in Ukraine as a factor which has “resulted in increased fuel prices and uncertainties relating to travel demand”.
The first flight from Gatwick to the Big Apple will depart on August 12 and is due to operate with a daily frequency.

Depart LGW: 1300hrs
Arrival JFK: 1555hrs
Depart JFK: 1755hrs
Arrival LGW: 0620hrs (+1)
The Nordic carrier’s London inaugural follows news that its first revenue flight will depart Oslo/Gardermoen for New York/JFK on June 14, with a trio of other US destinations being rolled out over the course of summer season.
Promotional prices start at £225 return, although it should be noted that this is the most stripped back fare and does not include checked luggage, meals, seat selection or other ‘frills’.
