KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, part of the Air France-KLM Group, has received its first Airbus A321neo as part of its fleet modernisation programme.
The delivery took place of A321neo, PH-AXA, on August 27, 2024 in Hamburg and was attended by the President and CEO of KLM, Marjan Rintel, as well as Wouter van Wersch, Airbus Executive Vice President International. Configured to seat 227 passengers across two classes, the A321neo delivered to KLM also has the ‘Airspace’ cabin configuration, which offers larger overhead lockers with 60% more capacity, USB-C ports at every seat, and improved lighting to enhance passenger comfort.
The A321neo will start serving Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm from mid-September, followed by Paris, Prague and Vienna. Three more of the type will join the carrier this year.
In a statement KLM stated: “With this new aircraft series, KLM continues its tradition of giving aircraft unique names.
