The two carriers have partnered to provide mutual access for their customers across each airline’s route networks
American Airlines and JetBlue will offer up to 700 daily flights from New York and Boston this winter as restrictions ease and travel demand increases.
The Northeast Alliance has been operating since July 2020 and, according to the carriers, has allowed customers to access 57 new markets and more than 110 codeshare routes from Boston and New York, since it began.
Vasu Raja, American’s chief revenue officer, said: “Our Northeast Alliance with JetBlue gives customers more choices and benefits and raises the bar on offering an industry-leading experience. With JetBlue’s domestic strength and American’s growing international network, we are unlocking more destinations for travellers, more flying for both our teams, a better suite of products and a premium experience in the Northeast.”
The renewed commitment to the partnership comes as JetBlue announced four new destinations including, San Antonio in Texas, Kansas City in Missouri and Milwaukee in Wisconsin along with Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The routes will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Airbus A220 and A320 family aircraft.
The airline has also announced new routes from New York/LaGuardia, made possible by its alliance with American. Starting October 31, the low-cost carrier will serve Jacksonville, Sarasota and Savannah with New Orleans and Nashville following in March 2022.
