The Human Element – Turtle Beach Interview

After reviewing their VelocityOne Flight control system produced by Turtle Beach, in Issue 137, we thought it would be interesting for our readers to know a little more about the company and the people behind the products to add the human element of the company. Turtle Beach Chairman and CEO Juergen Stark and Andrew Young, VP (Vice President) of new product categories answer our questions.

PC Pilot: Juergen, I understand you have a long history with flight simulation and aviation in particular?

Juergen Stark: Yes, in 2013 I acquired a PC-based simulator to practice flying Cirrus aircraft after getting my pilot’s licence and instrument rating in 2012. It was FAA-certified and very realistic for IFR flight, including all of the Cirrus navigation, approaches, etc. I quickly purchased an upgraded version with three 60-inch displays and then started further upgrading it myself, including combining it with the simulator provider’s helicopter cockpit. I’ve since continued upgrading the system, adding something like 12TB of OrthoXP graphics, building three gaming PCs over the years and buying multiple realistic aviation hardware components.
