US industry stalwart Lysa Scully joined Ferrovial Airports in January. She tells Tara Craig about the role, her ambitions and her thoughts on the wider airports sector in the light of COVID-19
Perhaps best known for her time as CEO of New York/LaGuardia, Lysa Scully joined Ferrovial Airports as an independent senior advisor at the beginning of 2021. Jorge Gil, CEO of the Spanish multinational at the time, said of her appointment: “Lysa’s unique experience and expertise managing and leading the development of large and complex airport infrastructure will be key to support Ferrovial Airports’ growth strategy in the US market.” As she settles into the role, Airports of the World put a series of questions to Scully.
Why did you take on the role – during a pandemic, in particular?
I accepted this role because improving the quality of airport infrastructure in the US is a massive challenge and fundamental to raising the level of customer experience to world-class standards.
