EART 2022 was carried out in conjunction with Spain’s Exercise SIRIO, which took centre stage at Gando and saw the participation of only SASF assets involved in advanced training and evaluation activities. Due to the lack of space at Gando, it was decided to deploy the tanker aircraft to Lanzarote Military Airfield, which has its own permanent Air Force troops, as well as an air defence radar that covers the Eastern Canary Islands and the maritime area up to the Sahara.
