Designed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the MU-2 is a utility aircraft equipped with twin-turboprop engines and a pressurised cabin. It is capable of high speed, long range and exhibits excellent short-field performance thanks to the double-slotted Fowler flaps and powerful engines.

The aircraft took its maiden flight in September 1963 and entered full-scale production later that year. A total of 704 airframes were manufactured during a production run from 1963 to 1986.

The MU-2 proved suitable for various civil, governmental and military applications, including business and VIP transport, air ambulance, search and rescue and cargo operations. Over the years, several variants have been built with an extended fuselage, enhanced engines and extended range.

The MU-2 is powered by two 776shp TPE331-6-251 turboprops and 3-blade Hartzell constant-speed reversible propellers. It has a range of 1,450 miles with a top speed of 340 mph.

The Mitsubishi MU-2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, developed by iniBuilds, features five liveries: White, Executive White, Executive Black, Xbox Aviators Club and Aviators Club. Other highlights include period instruments, a detailed 3D model with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures and an authentic interior. It is available today for $14.99 in the in-sim Marketplace.
