Eagle Dynamics Interview

2019 has been a busy year for Eagle Dynamics (ED) which saw the release of many new products and innovative features for DCS World. So we invited ED’s executive producer, Matt Wagner, to discuss the company’s activities over the past 12 months and also talk about their plans for the coming year.

PC Pilot: Hi Matt, thanks for taking part in this interview. May I begin by asking what would you say was Eagle Dynamics’ main overarching objective for 2019?

Matt Wagner: Simply to make the best combat aviation simulation technically feasible for PC. This effort includes many areas such as new aircraft from various eras, creating new maps and terrain technologies and enhancing our core engine. 2019 is nearly over but we are working to offer better gameplay for DCS World and a large part of this is creating a new damage model system, improved AI and future new online game modes. We have also been busy with the development of an integrated voice communications package which we hope to see before year-end in beta test with our users. While much effort has gone into new products like the F-16C and F/A-18C, most of our work has gone into developing and supporting the core DCS World engine.
