The USAF’s new advanced training aircraft, the T-7A Red Hawk, honours one of its most distinguished squadrons. Tom Kaminski provides a timely update of the type’s upcoming arrival in service

Beginning in 2024, the United States Air Force’s (USAF) Air Education and Training Command (AETC) will be using a new jet to train its pilots: Boeing’s T-7A Red Hawk. This single-engined advanced trainer will provide the USAF an all-new advanced pilot training platform that will prepare students to fly its fifth-generation F-22A and F-35A fighters and the low-observable B-21A Raider currently under development.
