Honeywell is harnessing the power of data to not only provide a better customer experience but also a safer and more efficient journey. Airliner World’s James Ronayne reports.
Netflix, YouTube and Facebook. Websites that, from nowhere, have become part of our everyday lives. The internet has changed the way we operate, both socially and professionally, whether it is sending a WhatsApp message to friends or conducting a business meeting via FaceTime. Now connectivity technology is helping airlines operate more efficiently and safely too.
Honeywell is a leading player in this shift, using its Boeing 757 testbed, N757HW (c/n 22194), to promote the company’s concept of a ‘Connected Aircraft’ via a world tour this summer. The US-based corporation believes the idea can help enhance the passenger experience, improve fleet utilisation by reducing maintenance downtime and flight delays, as well as increase efficiency and safety.
