Africair orders first Bell 407GXi

FLORIDA-BASED aircraft, spares and maintenance provider Africair has ordered the first Bell 407GXi for Africa, which will be going to an undisclosed corporate customer.

The purchase agreement was announced at the Farnborough Air Show in July, 2018. Compared with its predecessors, the 407GXi incorporates new avionics, including a Garmin G1000H NXi flight deck with high-definition displays and faster processors that provide increased brightness and clarity, faster startup and map rendering as well as an option for connectivity to tablets and smartphones. According to Bell, the 407GXi’s Rolls-Royce M250-C47E/4 dual-channel FADEC turbine engine gives good hot and high performance, fuel efficiency and the ability to cruise at 133kts (246 km/h). A 407GXi can be configured with with seating for up to six.
