ADVERSARY ‘CHECKERBOARD’

During a recent deployment from MCAS Beaufort, North Carolina, to Tulsa International Airport, Oklahoma, VMFA-312 ‘Checkerboards’ showcased F/A-18C Hornet BuNo 164274.

The squadron applied the adversary paint scheme to the aircraft partly due to the fact that it is no longer considered a deployable airframe. While deployed to Tulsa, from October 15-17, the unit conducted dissimilar air combat training (DACT) against F-16Cs from the 138th Fighter Wing’s 125th Fighter Squadron, Oklahoma ANG.
