World War One classics taking shape in France

Two historic Caudron aircraft are being worked on by experts in France

French restoration specialist Early Aviators, based at Tours-Sorigny airfield, is making steady progress on a pair of extremely rare 1916-built aircraft from the Caudron stable, a G3 and a twin-engine G4.

Founded by Antoine Ros, the company offers both restoration and maintenance services for vintage aircraft within its insulated workshops. It has also developed reverse engineering techniques along with reproduction of small vintage parts, both of which have been utilised in its current projects. Early Aviators has also been entrusted with the brokerage of several SPAD 7 fighter reproductions manufactured by Fox-Aviation Historique. The first airframes are now approaching completion, and are available to buy.
