LEONARDO HELICOPTERS announced at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) on May 22, 2019, that Sloane Helicopters has purchased two additional AW109 helicopters.
The UK-based company has also renewed its dealership agreement with Leonardo, covering AW109 GrandNew, AW109 Trekker and AW169 helicopters in the UK and Ireland.
Leonardo added that it foresaw at least eight new sales in the UK and Ireland market up until 2021.
In a statement released at EBACE 2019, Leonardo Helicopters said: “As the world’s leading manufacturer in the VIP multi-engine helicopter market, with a 40% share, and the largest producer of corporate helicopters flying in the UK, Leonardo is further growing its presence in this sector with the announcement of a further renewal of the distributorship agreement in the UK and Ireland with its key partner Sloane Helicopters. The agreement covers the AW109 GrandNew, AW109 Trekker and AW169 types over the period 2019 to 2021.”
The partnership between Sloane and Leonardo has resulted in the sales of almost 80 helicopters in the UK and Ireland to date.
