Tecnam launched a new edition of its P2006T training aircraft at the AERO Friedrichshafen show in Germany, held over April 17 to 20, 2024.
The P2006T NG (Next Generation) introduces more than 300 improvements from the P2006T, a Tecnam statement said. The Spanish flying school Fly-By was announced as the launch customer of the P2006T NG, Tecnam said, “to expand their fleet operations and respond to increasing airline demand”. The P2006T is a four-seat light twin-engine aircraft used for flight training in Spain, Italy, Romania, the Dominican Republic and India. The Italian manufacturer has built more than 400 examples of the aircraft.
According to Tecnam, the P2006T NG will be launched first within countries approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The new generation aircraft features an additional front door for the co-pilot and external access to the baggage compartment. Windows have been redesigned and made larger to improve visibility. The P2006T NG is powered by twin fuel-injected Rotax9121Sc3 engines, offering high-altitude efficiency and reduced fuel consumption of 14 litres per hour (3.7 US gallons per hour) per engine. LED anti-collision lights are now integrated into the winglets.
Internal improvements include a central console housing the FMS GCU477 keyboard to efficiently manage the aircraft’s Garmin GFC700 three-axis autopilot, the G1000 NXi interface and Flight Stream avionics system. Tecnam also offers what it refers to as a “super-premium” version of the aircraft called the P2006 NG SPORT. This features a black leather dashboard with soft LED lights, carbon-look panels, yokes and central console covered in leather, and moquette seats, leather side walls and side panels in the cabin.
