-Phazotron NIIR has developed the Zhuk AE AESA now fitted into the Mig-35 prototype.
Here are the specifications:
Till now theres no AESA radar from NIIP Tikhomirov..except for a small experimental(?) radar called the Epaulet-A..
Tikhomirov NIIP institute presented a small Epaulet-A active electronically scanned antenna (AESA) radar.
Unlike another AESA radar, Zhuk-A, shown by Phazotron-NIIR company in the neighboring pavilion, the Epaulet was not a mock-up, but a fully functioning experimental radar dismounted for the time of exposition from the test stand. According to NIIP representatives, the radar operates within frequency range X (centimeter wavelength). The radiation power in each of the antenna channels "amounts to 8-1OW, which may be compared to 5-8W emitted by foreign radars"; noise factor amounts to 3dB, whereas the efficiency factor is about 30%.The Epaulet-A radar has been built almost exclusively from Russian components with use of Russian technology, which is one of the basic conditions required by Russian air forces for the equipment to be installed in the fifth-generation fighter. The Epaulet-A is an experimental radar used for developing AESA technology and it is composed of only 68 transmit-receive modules; the next radars may be equipped with aerials of any form and size. The price of a single module "will be reduced to an acceptable level, provided that the same technology is used also for other series radiolocation systems made for military and civil applications" say NIIP officials.

First I have heard of it. Phazotron has in the past scaled up its Mig-29 radars for the Flanker series, in my opion it would be a poor buisness move without a dedicated customer as the Irbis seems to have already been selected for the Su-35.

You mean Aesa radar for the Su-30/35 series having 2000 modules...?
Sorry i also havent heard of it.
Although..it is possible that NIIP already has some experimental AESA already..I have a feeling that the if true,thats intended for the PAKFA and not Su3xx series.

-Ah Epaulet, i remember picking up a product sheet for that at Farnborough.
I vaguely remember one of the installation locations they were promoting for this radar was the wing leading edge.

I remember that as well, however the Epaulet series is not actually a NIIP product if I remember correctly it is some other company in cooperation with NIIP. I vaguey remember that at one point a non AESA version of this was used in the wing roots of Migs Mig-21-93 prototype to increase the Azimuth of the Kopyo radar. I am sure that I saw a very simple diagram for their use on a Mig-29 as well, however the concept never seems to have gone anywhere.

I vaguey remember that at one point a non AESA version of this was used in the wing roots of Migs Mig-21-93 prototype to increase the Azimuth of the Kopyo radar. I am sure that I saw a very simple diagram for their use on a Mig-29 as well, however the concept never seems to have gone anywhere.

Their whole website is available in English - a lot of info on their other products as well such as the Zaslon PESA system from the MiG-31 and the BARS system.
The impression I get is that the 'EPOLET' antenna was originally developed in PESA form for fitting onto the aircraft's wing leading edges for missile guidance, with a larger AESA version the 'EPOLET-A' then being proposed as a prospective 'PAK FA' main radar.:confused:

-We know so little about the Pak-fas avionics suit its ridiculous, most speculation comes from what has been released about what is going on the Su-35.
By the way what is this? I have not seen it before, is this the Irbis?

Good guess though, for IRBIS is a development from BARS for use on the MiG-35.

Thanks for the info Levsha, however the Irbis is for the Su-35 and not the Mig-35. Incidently the Su-35 will supposedly also get the Osa radar (also seen on the NIIP website) in its tail sting.
However NIIP have develooped the BARS-29 which is a version of the BARS for the Mig-29, it appeared at about the same time as the MMRCA contest appeared which suggests to me that NIIP was hoping to play of the commonality with the Su-30MKI fleet, but the Indians want AESA to NIIP have been left in the dark for now.

Why is the antenna system marked N1101M?Is it a separate designation system for the antenna..bcause BARS designation is N011M?
