RE: Pictures of Middle Eastern Air Forces wanted
Sorry to nitpick Arthur. But, German was the language that
narrowly missed being picked as the lingua franca of the
United States and not Dutch. Nevertheless, I trust you
speak German as well, so it wouldn't have been an issue. ;)
Awww, Sam! You just robbed an entire nation of the only thing it still felt proud of, dismissing it as an urban legend! Ah well... the thought of Georg W. Busch as president of the Vereinigten Staaten Amerikas asking if his people is willing to wage der totalen Krieg against terrorism... i think i can enjoy myself for a few hours thinking of the what-if designations of well-known American phrases.
Amerika! Heim der Freien, Land der Mütigen. Eine Nation unter Gott.
Of course aircraft names would have been different too. What about the F-130 Herkules? F, for Fracht of course. The J-15 Adler, J for Jäger. The AJ-4C Fantoom (Aufklärungsjäger), A-1 Luftrauber (Angriff-1, previously known as A-1 Skyraider.
uh-oh... this sounds like something excellent to spend hours of future boredom on!
