A Continental Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, N14074 (c/n 46911), is pushed back from its stand at London Gatwick in August 1999. Around 100 miles (161km) to the north, our predecessors were likely working on the fourth issue of Airliner World. It’s difficult to comprehend just how much has changed in commercial aviation since we arrived on the scene, but the image below goes some way to highlight the scale of flux within the business.
