If you open a UK aviation magazine today, the chances are there is one name credited against several of the images – Darren Harbar. Having been involved with photography from a young age, Darren has gone on to follow this passion throughout his professional life. Setting up a business around the subject, he now offers numerous workshops to help people overcome one of the biggest challenges in aviation photography – knowing how to use a camera properly. Darren commented: “Having spent many years running reader days for photography magazines, I really enjoy teaching people how to take pictures and love training them how to use their cameras.”
What to expect
Arriving a few minutes earlier than the 9am start time, I took the opportunity to sit down with Darren over coffee to discuss the day’s plans. He said: “The idea is to give people an insight into how they might go about photographing aeroplanes in different scenarios – both generally and artistically. The first is in a museum.
